ArtWalk (Spring 2004)

In the spring of 2004, Sharon was one of five artists invited to participate in a group show entitled, “Food Court: Art of the Edible” at ArtWalk at Lenox Square. The exhibit space consists of five large glass enclosed display cases in The Promenade between the JW Marriott Hotel and Lenox Square.

All of the artists in the show enjoy representing food as subject matter, but each one has a unique focus and style. Marianne B. Lambert, curator of the show, wrote in the show brochure that artists are attracted aesthetically to food for its color, shape, texture and patterning. She said that Sharon is nutritionally conscious of food and likes to dramatize “good foods” so they look more appealing than the fast food we consume so voraciously.

The photos here show Sharon’s display case filled with healthy fruit and vegetable paintings.

Sandy Springs Library

The Sandy Springs Library gives local artists the opportunity to exhibit their work for a month. Sharon’s work was featured for the month of April. The photos show landscape, food portraits, and floral works on display in the main walkway of the library.
