Dunwoody Artist's Painting Used For Floor Mat
Product Available at Bed, Bath & Beyond Stores Nationwide

ATLANTA, GA, December 18, 2003 --- Dunwoody artist Sharon Weiss has an image of one of her pastel paintings reproduced on a floor mat, which is now available at area locations of Bed, Bath, and Beyond. The top portion of the floor mat contains the scanned image of begonias in bright pinks, greens, and whites, and the backing is made of recycled tires. They are manufactured by a Northern California based company and are available nationwide and at Atlanta locations of Bed, Bath & Beyond. Sharon reports that getting involved with floor mats was an unexpected circumstance that occurred during a family event trip to San Francisco last year. Her brother’s friend mentioned that she had a business relationship with the manufacturer and suggested that some of her artwork could be appropriate as images. She had the painting professionally scanned so the manufacturer could create a sample for potential customers. When Bed, Bath, and Beyond ordered the mats, the company went into full production. Sharon reports that the image is very true to the original and is excited to see the floor mats sold in local stores. Her friends and co-workers have been snapping up the mats at nearby stores.

With a Bachelor’s Degree and teaching credential in art from UCLA, Sharon has experience with many types of media but particularly enjoys working with pastels. She is a signature member and officer of the Southeastern Pastel Society, and teaches workshops in pastel and watercolor pencil at the Spruill Education Center. She has participated in numerous exhibits at the Spruill Gallery, Swan Coach Gallery, group shows with the Southeastern Pastel Society, and has completed numerous commissions. Her work has been purchased by local and international collectors.
